Sustainability is something I like to incorporate into everything I do. Being a chair for the Loop for Good has allowed me to work both in fashion and sustainability. I believe it is crucial for the fashion industry as a whole to take steps towards less harmful production and repurposed garments since there is indeed a cap on our resources.

To me, sustainability means that everyone is doing their part to ensure our planet is healthy for generations to come. During my time at FIT, I’ve noticed how vital sustainability is to the fashion industry. The Loop for Good has allowed me to explore the practice of sustainability in my own life and advocate for a more sustainable and circular industry. I’ve also learned invaluable teamwork and leadership skills from my role as a chair.

Over the years, I’ve become very passionate about sustainability. When I started at FIT in 2019 and heard about the Loop for Good, I knew it was the perfect way to combine sustainability with my interest in fashion. The fashion industry is a large contributor to the acceleration of climate change, so promoting change, such as less textile waste, is something that can make a significant impact on the environment.
